This course focuses on the intracellular signaling pathways. In the course of writing this manual, Hugo discovered that he didn’t have formats for over 200 hormones.
The signaling pathways go into in-depth analysis and formatting of the different G protein Receptors: cGMP-PKG receptors, single-spanning receptors with tyrosine kinase, single-spanning receptors without tyrosine kinase, and interleukin 1 receptors.
The 2 main functions of the signaling pathways are phosphorylation & gene transcription (gene expression).
It follows the different pathways of phosphorylation of tyrosine, serine, or threonine to either activate or deactivate other proteins. It also looks at the activation or inhibition of transcription factors that facilitate gene expression.
