Aquaporin & Hydration Pathways
NK Institute's
Hydration is the essential process for getting water inside the cells and their organelles. This is achieved by transporting water across cellular membranes via membrane proteins called aquaporins. Aquaporins facilitate the bidirectional transport of water and other molecules in both the external plasma membrane as well as internal organelles.
Hugo has developed acupressure formats and balances for all 14 aquaporins, as well as hydration balances for many parts of the body such as the urinary system, brain, large Intestine (which includes dietary water absorption), eyes, red blood cells, skin, digestive system, respiratory system, reproductive system, etc.
Some of the aquaporins also transport other molecules such as glycerol, urea, ammonia, carbon dioxide and hydrogen peroxide. This can lead to some interesting balances such as fat burning and removal of glycerol from adipocytes.
There are also some interesting intracellular balances which enable the practitioner to balance the movement of water and other molecules within the cell between the different organelles inside.
